Holden Club Central Inc
The Early Holden Enthusiasts Club (Central Region) was formed in 2003 after a small group of early Holden owners in Palmerston North advertised and invited other similar vehicle owners to join them one Sunday and gauge the interest. The day was so well represented that the club was easily formed and from those small beginnings has evolved into a well established and recognized Holden club.
The club became a registered incorporated society in 2010. The club name was changed in 2017 to Holden Club Central Inc.
The club successfully organised and hosted the 2011 Holden Nationals in Palmerston North. Profit from the running of that event was gifted back to the community through donations to the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter Service and Ronald McDonald House. The club is a member of the Holden Federation of Clubs NZ Inc. and within the district, values the support of Johnston Ebbett, Wellington, as principal club sponsor. www.johnstonebbett.co.nz.
Members come from all over the lower North Island (Wanganui, Manawatu, Wairarapa, Kapiti and Wellington) and have no fixed ‘home’ location. Membership numbers remain constant at around 30 members with 35-40 different model Holdens. Regular club runs are made to a variety of regional locations, as well as other Holden club and general open car shows. Committee meetings are held six weekly, where member events are planned with upcoming events being advised to members by email and newsletter.
